Description:

This hillside property needed usable outdoor living space where the yard dropped off steeply below the home. We extended the existing concrete slab with a new elevated deck, engineered to handle the slope and grade change.
We started with poured concrete pier footings set into the hillside, then built up pressure-treated 4x4 posts with diagonal knee bracing for lateral support. Redwood beams tie the posts together, topped with a full 2x6 joist grid and plywood subfloor ready for decking. The result is a level, structurally sound deck extension with sweeping canyon and mountain views — framed to last through grade, weather, and time.
