Project: Free-floating Redwood Deck

Overview

Richard came to us with a pretty clear idea of what he had in mind for his design. However, as with most projects, there were some mid-flight modifications to the original concept. As we shared ideas the project became much more of a collaboration yielding a result that was both beautiful in design and perfectly executed.  

 

Materials

We used pressure-treated materials for the framing, and 2x6 JW Select Grade A redwood for the decking. We used a Camp Marksman Pro to set the screws to perfection. Once complete, we treated the deck with a Graco sprayer for weatherproofing and termite protection. Bringing out the true woodgrain pattern and color of the redwood was an added benefit of this process.
