David indicated that he wanted a deck with railing for his mobile home. Furthermore, because of the skirting, the deck could not be attached to the mobile home. Based on these factors and  on the positioning of his home relative to a retaining wall, I designed a solution that floated along side the mobile home and above the retaining wall. We also added a bench and 2x10 bar top.

 

We used 2x8 pressure-treated materials for the framing, and 2x6 Grade A premium redwood for the decking. We used a Camp Marksman Pro to set the screws to perfection. 

 

Once complete, we treated the deck with a Graco sprayer with Cabot redwood cedar for weatherproofing, termite protection and to bring out the true woodgrain pattern and color of the redwood.
